SPACESAVER MODELS 2000 & 4000
TURBO Refrigerating's Spacesaver model ice machines offer numerous features for a variety of uses. The spacesaver models can meet the needs of hotels/motels, restaurants, hospitals and many other types of institutions that call for high volume, nugget ice harvested in a short amount of time. Spacesavers deliver dry, hard fragmentary ice that does not fuse together.
The simple timer control lets you make the size of ice you need... 1/8" to 3/4" thickness. In addition, the ice sizer is adjustable to fine, medium or coarse, making available a large variety of ice from any Spacesaver model in the line. The Spacesaver models offer numerous other features and benefits including:
- TURBO Spacesavers set the trend for fragmentary ice. Nugget ice is ideal for table service, mixed drinks, packaged ice sales.
- High volume, hard ice production-automatically controlled from a single timer operation.
- Compact size that fits virtually anywhere. Available with or without companion ice storage bins.
- TURBO heavy-duty ice machines deliver diamond-hard, super-cold long lasting ice.
- Big capacity...TURBO Spacesavers can produce 2,000 lbs or 4,000 lbs of ice each 24 hours, even in 90 ƒ room temperatures and at 70 ƒ water input.
- TURBO ice can be more compactly stored and is handled with great ease, has minimum loss from melting, makes table service easier and faster, cools drinks faster and longer...gives exact control over ice-to-drink ratio.
- The simple, easy-to-maintain ice-making system in the Spacesaver requires only five moving parts. This keeps maintenance costs at an extremely low level and helps provide a longer, low maintenance life for the unit.
- The complete harvest is normally accomplished in less than two minutes. No artificial heat to melt the ice is applied. No liquid touches the ice. Ice is harvested hard, dry, ready to use, with no slush.
- The Spacesaver unit operates at peak efficiency, without complicated or recurring adjustments. Simplicity of design and operation and stainless steel parts help eliminate major problems. Routine maintenance can be performed without special skills. The self-contained units are completed integrated, wired, charged with refrigerant and carefully shop-tested.
DRY-TEMPERED
At the end of each ice making cycle, TURBO ICE and only TURBO ICE, is tempered by an extra moment of low temperature freezing. This makes TURBO ICE remain extra dry and therefore mobile longer than any other form of ice...and it requires no extra drying apparatus.
EASY HANDLING
Because of this dry tempered procedure, the hard and dry form of TURBO ICE, when placed in storage, does not crust and fuse together like other forms of ice. It is easier to handle by scoop, shovel, conveyor or in a packaged form. This is a proven feature required in the fishing, poultry, packaged ice and the chemical industries. With a simple manual adjustment of the ice cutting bar, a range of sizes can be obtained from fine, to medium, to coarse. A timing device enables you to select the desired ice thickness(from 1/4" to 1 1/4'). Special Ice Makers are available to produce 1" or thicker ice if required.
LONGER LASTING
The Engineered Freezing Process built into this hard TURBO ICE, makes it last longer than other forms of ice in use today. Because TURBO ICE lasts as much as 29% longer than flake or slush ice, your ice costs are substantially reduced.
TURBO'S SYSTEMS
You get full ice production from any TURBO unit when you need ice the most. TURBO Ice Production is A.S.R.E. rated at 90° F. ambient air and 70° F fresh water, making its nominal ratings higher than most any other ice machine on the market today.

CHEMICAL
Ice is necessary in dye processing, as ice will keep the product at a consistency of 32 ° F. Therefore, the qualities of TURBO ICE allow for better ice storage and distribution. TURBO ICE will not "ball up" or congeal in the dye vats. Instead, it is hard and remains mobile in the vats, maintaining a more uniform temperature.
PROCESSING, PACKING AND SHIPPING
Seafood, fresh poultry, dairy products and produce... there's always a TURBO Ice Maker that's right for these uses. TURBO ICE drops clean, hard and dry, with no slushing or soft ice that creates wasteful handling and mess. TURBO ICE does not shrink away from the product. The thickness of the ice makes it last longer and minimizes dehydration. For quality ice protection, use TURBO ICE.

STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION
TURBO is the only ice machine manufacturer who produces the complete package of ice machines, storage bins, ice rakes*, Pneumatic ice blowing units...or whatever distribution system you desire...and all in their own plant. Another point to remember is that all our TURBO Ice Makers have been accepted by the U.S.D.A.
*TURBO's Automatic Ice Rake Systems are patented and are designed for ice storage capacities from 20 to 300 tons. These systems automatically load and unload the ice storage bin in pre-determined ice quantities up to 60 tons an hour. This eliminates manual labor and makes automation possible for the first time in the ice industry.
